These pages were completely revised and updated in January 2021.
They feature a trip taken in 2006, when we took leaves of
absence from our jobs, took our son out of school, and travelled
through Australia and New Zealand for two months. It was a
magnificent experience which we hope to be able to do again some
time. We saw dynamic cities, explored intriguing natural areas
and met wonderful people. Although, this trip was taken some
time ago, the photos are refreshed and the commentary updated to
highlight the enduring nature of these attractions.

We drove thousands of kilometers and soon got accustomed to
driving on the left side of the road. In Australia, we were
warned that the greatest dangers were hitting a kangaroo or
falling asleep at the wheel. In New Zealand, the worst danger
was meeting an oncoming train on the one lane bridges.
